General Game Play Questions FAQ

Character Actions

Q. Do you have to do the character actions in order from the top to the bottom in that order?

A. Yes. You must do the actions in that order. However, you are allowed to skip any that you want.

Q. Do I only spawn monsters, use items or tactics from character actions?

A. Yes. You have to follow the character actions rules. This includes the level requirement as well as the card cost (You'll see it under the level. It's a picture of 1~3 cards. You have to have leveled with at least that many cards of the respective class before the character action could be used.) You also have to have leveled with at least one card from that color in order to play a card of the same color.

Damage

Q. When a card says "Deal X amount of damage. This damage cannot be prevented." How would this card work against an opponent who has a card that says "If you would be dealt more than 30 damage, reduce that damage to 30." Does the damage get reduced or stay full?

A. Cards that deal damage that cannot be prevented always deal their full damage. Cards, abilities or rules that prevent or reduce this damage do not work.

Leveling

Q. If I use Buffy (set 1), and remove a card from under my opponent, does my opponent lose a level or remain the same level?

A. Yes, they would lose a level. However they would not lose HP as gaining HP is a one-time effect of leveling up. It is not an on-going ability.

Q. If I level-up with Lucida (set 1) and I return a card from under my character with Lucida, did I just go up a level from Playing Lucida and then go back down? Or did I level up and keep the level, even though a card has been removed from under my character?

A. Your level would remain the same.

Q. Is there a limit on Max HP for a character?

A. There is no limit on Max HP for leveling up, however there are certain cards that will heal your character, but will not allow you to heal above your starting HP.

Oneshot Abilities

Q. Do items like DoomBringer and BloodSlain which add damage to character actions apply to one shot abilities like Jr. Cerebes' Crush?

A. No. Oneshot abilities are different then character actions in that they are activated at the time of the level up and only playable once. Unless you have a card that specifically tells you to do a oneshot ability more than once.
